Rated 4 out of 5 by Alan from Excellent reliable unit; noisy Installed the 30kW unit 2 years ago and it performed flawlessly through 2 hurricanes and 1 tornado. Lots of reserve for our compound with 2 houses, 3 ACs, ovens, hottub, landscaped and well lit inside. Only complaint is noise. This thing runs at over 3200rpm with LPG supply and while i like the fact ive got >1000 gallons in underground lpg, i wish it had hospital grade mufflers. While im not disturbed, its outside my neighbours bedroom. Im contemplating noise barriers and additional mufflers but have been warned about nulling the warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GarSu82 from 30 KW Was toying with a cheaper 24kw unit instead of the 30kw. The 30kw covered the whole house plus pool whereas the 24 needed to have certain loads taken off. Auto exercises and seems to work like a champ.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JB from Appears good for power replacement Had our 30 KW unit installed about 6 weeks ago. Pretty straight forward for the installer until we got to the wifi setup. Probably the most complicated setup I have ever seen (and I have done IT work) and took hours to complete. In the end, the issue was our router setup, where THAT installer set selection of 2.4 or 5 gHz to AUTO.Most devices today can recognize and pick the one best suited, but the Wifi module in the Generac could not. We had to recode the router to separate the 2.4 band and then the setup went quickly. Instructions were a bit lacking although they did say to look for 2.4 gHz, just not that the router needs to be specifically set for it.The tech support team was AWESOME and spent over 1 hour with me trying to get it working, but to no avail. It took the installer talking with the house IT installer to figure out the answer.Today we lost power due to a line cut and it worked FLAWLESSLY, so for that we give 5 STARS!The phone app is pretty wimpy, only giving status information. In todays world, one would expect to be able to run an exercise mode, start or stop generator activity, maybe the engine temp, amps being drawn while running, etc. Could use some work here. And, this app should ALWAYS be FREE for the cost and necessity of this type of appliance. e.g. just like pool and irrigation controller apps.We cannot rate as to long term use and durability at this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jim from This generator will do the job done in a normal size home The location of the Auxiliary Shutdown switch makes it very easy to accidently turn the generator off. A simple fix was to place a guard around the switch.Locating the power wires for the MLG Module was a nightmare. They were bundled with and behind another wiring harness next to the actual generator. They should be placed next to the battery box where they are to be connected.The recommended 5/8" mounting bolts will not fit through the holes in the frame. I had to use 1/2" bolts.I haven't had too actually use the generator yet. However, when the technician removed the utility power, the generator started and restored power in less than 10 seconds. We loaded it with two Heat pump units*, two electric water heaters, the oven, other appliances and normal lighting without any problem; and plenty of power to spare.* I did have the emergency supplemental electric heat strips in my large heat pump changed to propane because they consume a very large amount of power.
